For kids
Words too small? Colors hard to see? Press the round button with the little person in the corner. You can make the words bigger, change the colors and stop things from moving.
Our aim
We want every kid and grown-up to enjoy Lucy and her friends. We build this website to meet the Israeli Standard 5568 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at level AA, and we keep fixing what we find.
What we did
- Every page works with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing on each page, and the place you are on is always outlined.
- Pictures have text for screen readers. Buttons and links say what they do.
- Text and buttons use strong colors on light backgrounds, and buttons are big enough to tap.
- Pages follow the motion setting of your device: if you ask your device for less motion, the site moves less.
- Pages work when you zoom in to 200 percent.
- The films have music and no spoken words. All their text is on the screen.
The accessibility menu
The button in the corner of every page opens a menu with:
- Text size: three sizes for the whole page.
- High contrast: black text on white, stronger colors.
- No colors: the page in shades of grey.
- Easy-read font: a plain font in place of the typewriter titles.
- More space between letters: more room between letters, words and lines.
- Show links: every link underlined and marked.
- Stop moving things: animations stop.
- Hide the corner button: for small screens. "Accessibility settings" at the bottom of every page opens the menu again.
We built the menu ourselves. It loads nothing from other companies and sends nothing anywhere. Your choices stay in this browser until you press Reset.
What is not accessible yet
- The games are pictures drawn on the screen. They need sight, and a keyboard, mouse or touch screen. Screen readers cannot read them, and the menu's settings do not change them.
We are working on this.
